The Thigh Is The Limit

Follow

If you follow me on twitter, or work in my local Russell & Bromley store, you'll know that my dream shoes are the Stuart Weitzman Highland boots.
My Pinterest is filled with pins of them being styled by those more fortunate - check out my shoe board here - because to me they are the most perfectly crafted thigh-high boot I've seen in so long.
HOWEVER, this isn't a wishlist post, nor is it me moaning about the £650 price tag and wistfully doodling "Mrs Lucy Weitzman" all over my notebook
(not that I do that... of course...
Because I've found these alternatives which are a pretty amazing dupe if you ask me.

These beauties are from H&M (you can buy them here) and fit so well and close to the leg which is a huge plus for me as I tend to find longer boots can be a bit loose on my calves. The material is very soft but doesn't feel it's going to scratch super easily like some faux suedes do. For me the lace up detailing at the top of the boot is what links them to the style of the Highland boot, it adds a further detail and also allows for changing how tight fitting it is above the knee.
And, and it's a big AND, they are only £39.99.

It's not just the boots I'm lusting over in this post, as I've been gifted this beautiful Soraya Crop Scallop Two Piece in Nude* from Manchester brand Luxêmme, and the neutral colours paired perfectly with the grey of the boots. The material of this co-ord feels really quality, and the satin lining is a really nice touch as not a lot of retailers do line their clothes. The colour makes this a great addition to a neutral wardrobe, but I have to say the skirt is veeeeery short and feels a bit of a tighter fit than the top. I'm much more of a midi skirt kind of girl nowadays!

To finish off the look, one of my fave buys from the summer, my Vila White Biker Jacket from ASOS. It just pulls the whole neutral theme together and is the perfect jacket to transition into the colder months with. I'm going to still try and add in this white jacket to my winter 'drobe, but I know I'm not the only one to veer towards darker colours as the days grow shorter.

What are your thoughts on this look? Do you love tall boots or are you an ankle boot kind of gal? Are co-ords your thing?
Let me know! xx
