Irresistible Me Hair Extensions

I've always adored long hair. I've practically erased the memory of my "I wonder what I'd look like with a bob" haircut from my mind, and I've managed to grow my hair far longer than I could have hoped.
But, with the ambition of one day being a mermaid, sometimes it's just not enough to keep it natural...

This is why I was so excited when IrresistibleMe sent me some of their beautiful extensions to really up my mermaid hair game!
The product I'm wearing is the Royal Remy Hair in shade Royal Golden Blonde (#14)*, also in 24" length and 200g weight.
What this means is they are incredibly thick and long which is perfect for me, and as Remy standard is the best you can get with human hair extensions you can style/cut/colour to perfectly suit your look.

I styled my hair and the extensions using the same routine as my Perfect Waves Tutorial.

Here's a before & after:

The extensions arrived beautifully boxed, and there was a sample of the hair that you could open and check for colour matching without ruining the returns policy (genius). I was so taken aback by how luxurious the hair was. There were 10 pieces in the set I chose and they all feel so thick and quality.

You can see from the before and after shots how they added inches to my already long hair and made my curls look so so thick. The colour match service also worked perfectly in my case, I'm so impressed with these extensions especially as I haven't worn any in years!

In terms of things that weren't 100% perfect, I'd have to say I'd have loved to be able to get ombré style extensions to match my hair exactly from root to tip, but even saying that I don't think these are visibly different at all.

So what do you guys think?! I love long hair, so I'm sold on this product. Do you wear extensions? Or is natural better for you? I'd love to know your thoughts!

Perfect Waves Tutorial

I have had so many wonderful compliments from my lovely readers and friends about my hair since I had the ombré done, and I wanted to share a tutorial on my favourite look at the moment and how to create the perfect waves.

I start by tying half of my hair up in a little topknot so I look fab (also because my hair is super thick) but if your hair is finer then feel free to skip this step.
Next, I coat my hair in heat protector and I make sure it is completely brushed through and knot-free.
Then it’s on to the curling…
(P.S I don't mean to look miserable I'm trying so hard not to burn myself like usual!)
The curler I am using to do this stage is the Babyliss Volume Waves Curler. It has nice wide barrel that makes nice big bouncy curls, but it does also have that really annoying clamp bit which has like a crimping effect if you use it, which I try not to. I like to take the sections around 1-2 inches wide but not particularly thick in terms of how much hair I actually wrap around the curler.

Once the bottom half of my hair is all curled, I spray with the Got2B Glued Blasting Freeze Spray and then carefully push them to my back to COOL DOWN. This bit is so important!

If the curls don’t cool they won’t set enough to be able to wave them without it just coming out.

I then repeat the curling method on the top half, but adding more curls towards my face to give added volume.
This is a bit variable I’ve found too, if you do the curl all the way up to the root you’ll get bouncier waves, and the further away from the root it’ll be more vintage-style waves.
Hairspray, then leave to cool!

While they’re cooling off, I like to do something really productive, like put on false lashes ooorrrr paint my nails… yep, real productive.

Onto the final two steps, it’s now the daunting yet thankfully quick bit.
I get my hairbrush again and just drag it through my hair ONCE. It get’s rid of any crispiness from the excessive hairspray and also loosens the curls into perfect waves.
This is so daunting if you’ve never done it before and have taken a long time to do the curling, and trust me if you’ve let your curls set and used hairspray they should bounce back!
To finish off I do a light spray once more, but keep it very light this time.

And there you go pal’s, that’s how I get my waves!
I have to say they last a lot longer now I have bleached hair, but also since I’ve started using the Got2b Hairspray, so it’s one I’d definitely recommend to try.

What do you think of this tutorial? Would you like to see more like this?
Also, please let me know if you’ve given this style a go I would love to see the result! xx
